Design print and web/ ISTD/ Re-written brief alteration

' Not just fleurons '

The brief:
Develop an understanding of the world of plants, consider their form, colour, size, texture, smell, taste, feel associations, personalities and botanical names. Develop an appealing and informative outcome which interprets and celebrates plants.  Use mixed media to produce a typographic piece from hand rendered, to screen printing. Show off your typographic skills and remember to include words and language that are relevant to the theme of the brief. Develop on further and create an interesting concept for flower and plant enthusiasts, thus being a website and an app, to give them something interactive and practical to do with their knowledge of garden life or to learn more about the art of the garden.

Target audience:

House residents who are gardeners (male and female) aged 30-55 who are outgoing individuals, entertained by the art of gardening and enjoy colour matching their flower beds and co-ordinating their plant pots in an arrangement that looks artistic in their garden. They are practical people who like to keep up with current trends.

Considerations:
As the botanical world is paradise of green tones and rainbow colours, the typography should be inspired by this in order to add emphasis to the theme. Remember who the audience are at all times and design for them.

Background:
Show an understanding of typography and how it can be used by applying element of the brief to it. Investigate thoroughly into the concept of the garden and the idea of flowers, what they are, why they are here and what they are for. Show a breadth of visuals and informative research.
