Design for print and web/ ISTD/ Design direction

My idea was to make a website called 'Plantae' thus being an informative and educational website for female gardeners aged 30-55. It's content would include an A-Z of plants, facts about botanical life and the option to buy gardening equipment. However i don't feel like the work is coming together properly, this is a matter i will raise in my tutorial.

Design development for gardening equipment

Pattern from an original image i took:

I then got an image of gardening tools and applied this pattern to them using a clipping mask. 

The them behind this type of design was to create a body of floral and botanical patterns which could then be applied to gardening equipment and accessories in a similar sense as Cath Kidston patterns are applied to stationary.
