Photoshop brief / postcards

RED - POSTCARDS

For this brief we were asked to use the Photoshop skills we had learned in the lessons and apply it to 5 products - 5 individual postcards, i chose the colour RED as my theme, as the month is February i thought an ideal theme to base the postcards on could be valentines day.

I used some nature images i had taken myself of flowers i thought would be useful to use for the postcards.

The designs are pretty simple, to start off i drew a simple heart shape in illustrator, and began to edit my photos in Photoshop.

Firstly i edited each of my flower images, adjusting the hue and saturation to give them an overall red tone, hue-360, sat-65 and lightness-10, depending on the light of the images at the time the tones varied, but i quite light how they have a different tint to them.

I then placed the love heart vector i created on top of the flower image layer, free transformed to adjust the placing, and deleted the middle section of the shape to show the image from layer one.

For each of the postcards i just carried out the same process, therefore i produced a matching set of 5 individual postcards based on the colour RED, with the theme of valentines day.
